Located on the outskirts of the rural market town of Newent; about 10 miles north-west of Gloucester city, and with magnificent 38-acre site and impressive sports facilities, Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support Officer with a proven track record. Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre is an 11-18 comprehensive academy with c 1050 students currently on roll.
The successful candidate will support behaviour management strategies for students in the House and wider areas of school life under the direction of a Head of House and the Vice Principal (Inclusion).
Consideration will be given to candidates who have experience of working with students who display challenging behaviours and who hold relevant professional qualification in education, youth or social work or other relevant experience of working in the police, youth offending or health sector that would demonstrate an ability to inspire young people.
You will be required:
To be able to build relationships with the students and colleagues within the school
To work with a range of outside agencies
To follow direction from the class teacher
To be proactive in adapting resources and activities
To complete relevant training where needed
To be able to work as part of a team, with excellent communication skills, a sense of humour and the ability to share ideas and learn from each other

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £25,992 to £31,586. The pro rata's equivalent take home salary is £22,232 - £27,016.
