We are open to flexible and agile working, both in hours and location. We offer a blend of working from home, and our offices in London, Southampton & Yeovil. This team is based in the Southampton office 3 days per week.
What’s the job?
* Captures the needs of brand, consumer, product experience and supply chain constraints and turns them into clear packaging designs that are right first time. Identify beneficial opportunities whenever possible.
* Defines upfront project success criteria (innovation, sustainability, affordability and efficiency) to drive clarity throughout each project.
* Briefs suppliers and leads the development of technical solutions through proof‑of‑concept to production and implementation of each project.
* Delivers technical design that ensures the ‘end‑of‑life’ recycling of our packaging materials has been considered for all markets and customers.
What You'll Bring
* Structural packaging experience as a Packaging Engineer or Technologist, preferably within the retail or packaging sectors, and a strong understanding of packaging production processes and materials.
* CAD experience (ArtiosCAD/CAPE) and strong packaging prototyping skills; industry knowledge of primary and transit packaging materials, innovations and trends.
* Knowledge of how structural packaging improves quality and aligns with Kingfisher targets, and an understanding of packaging sustainability drivers and goals.
* Application of knowledge to improve packaging quality, drive sustainability credentials (reduce, remove, reuse), increase sales and profitability, and drive down cost.
* Insight into how packaging contributes to customer experience and purchase decision‑making.
