Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will lead day-to-day delivery, support, and availability of the FDB Global Infrastructure. This includes building, configuring, administering, and supporting infrastructure technologies and solutions across computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, COTS and open-source software, and containerized, virtual, and cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Role & Responsibilities
* Technical lead for the day-to-day support and availability of the FDB Global Infrastructure, including computing, storage, networking, and cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
* Provide cross-functional technical support and delivery for global projects; compile technology documentation for GxP and critical IT technologies; participate/lead system validation and testing; represent IT in audits and inspections.
* Collaborate with IT architects to translate architectural designs into operational solutions; deploy new technologies and ensure integration with existing systems while adhering to policies and security frameworks; define and meet AIS metrics for new deployments.
Qualifications And Experience
* 8+ years in a third/ fourth-line infrastructure role in a global enterprise, or 3+ years in biomedical IT service environments; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
* Design and support knowledge of infrastructure technologies (RHEL, VMware, Windows Server, Citrix, Hyperconverged, Ansible, Satellite, Debian); experience with backup/recovery (e.g., Veeam); strong Linux and container (Docker, Kubernetes) administration experience.
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), storage design/administration, and infrastructure security frameworks (ISO27000); solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VPN).
* Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; scripting and automation experience; ability to track IT issues, roadmaps, and emerging technologies; secure-by-design mindset.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
* 8+ years in a 3rd/4th line infrastructure role or 3+ years in biomedical IT support; mixed background acceptable.
* In-depth design and support knowledge of RHEL, VMware, Windows Server, Citrix, Hyperconverged, Ansible, Satellite, Debian; Veeam backup; enterprise Linux; container platforms; open-source licenses.
* Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure); storage design/administration; infrastructure security (ISO27000); networking fundamentals; scripting/automation; security considerations for open-source technologies.
