We’re looking for a Senior PHP Developer to lead the charge in transforming a 15-year-old legacy platform into a high-performance, modern web application. This isn’t about maintenance - it’s about reimagining, rebuilding, and scaling a system that’s already serving millions in the UK.

* Current stack: PHP 8.3, MySQL, jQuery
* Future stack: PHP 8.3, Laravel/Symfony, Hotwire (Turbo), MySQL
* Infra: AWS (you'll own it), GitHub (PR workflow), Kanban
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the architectural evolution from procedural PHP to modern MVC
* Refactor and optimise MySQL schemas and queries
* Help shape and implement a new UX vision in tandem with designers
* Take ownership of deployments, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD
* Contribute ideas on integrating LLMs and AI tools into dev workflows and customer service
* Help build a future-proof internal system for warehousing and logistics
What You Bring
* Experience refactoring legacy PHP codebases into modern frameworks
* Strong MySQL tuning and architecture skills
* Comfort managing AWS and cloud infrastructure
* Pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in autonomy
* Interest in AI/LLMs is a bonus (but not required)
