The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, skilled and experienced Greenspace Maintenance Chargehand to support the Environment Working Foreperson. This hands on role involves leading teams and carrying out high quality horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks and ensuring safe and efficient operations across our sites.
Cormac Environment Service provides a comprehensive, end-to-end Park and Open Spaces management service across Cornwall. Our professional and operational teams deliver expert grounds and tree maintenance services, quality parks enhancement projects, play facility installation, improvement and repair works, as well as an ongoing stewardship of a wide variety of diverse landscapes from parks, formal gardens, open spaces, sports pitches, cemeteries, waterways, and roadside landscapes. Sustainability and the Natural Environment is at the heart of all we do, adapting maintenance to favour habitats and biodiversity.
What You will Do
• Lead small teams across a variety of public spaces and parks
• Carry out routine and specialist grounds maintenance tasks
• Operate a wide range of grounds maintenance machinery and tools
• Ensure safe working practices and site standards
• Support the development and mentoring of team members
• Assist with inspections, planning, and delivery of maintenance schedules
• Contribute to biodiversity and habitat‑enhancement projects
