We’re now seeking a Rigid Planner / Night Trunk Co-ordinator to join our busy Ambergate transport team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods across our rigid fleet and Palletline network. Role Overview You’ll be responsible for creating, managing, and communicating daily transport plans, ensuring maximum utilisation of vehicles and drivers while maintaining excellent customer service. Acting as the link between the Transport Office, Customer Service team, Palletline, and the canopy, you’ll play a central role in keeping operations on track. Key Responsibilities Plan and allocate all rigid vehicle routes and loads efficiently and cost-effectively. Monitor deliveries, respond to changes, and adjust plans in real time. Ensure correct vehicle types are assigned and resources optimised. Act as the daily contact for the Customer Service team, prioritising and adjusting runs as needed. Coordinate night trunking activity, ensuring on-time arrival and compliance with Palletline schedules. Liaise with canopy staff for accurate loading and manifesting of jobs. Communicate effectively with Palletline, Customer Service, and Logistics Co-ordinators. Complete thorough end-of-shift handovers, ensuring all consignments are scheduled, tracked, and recorded accurately. Support wider transport projects and maintain a proactive, positive approach at all times. Experience & Background Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role. Knowledge of rigid or multi-drop operations preferred. Experience in route optimisation and fleet utilisation. Strong communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office. Experience working with third-party networks such as Palletline is advantageous.
