As a sourcing manager in our Food & Beverage (F&B) team you’ll be key to our delivery of the F&B offer, working closely with our product development, supply chain and operating teams. With over 360 F&B outlets, you’ll be sourcing and negotiating with a range of suppliers in both food and beverage and non-food.
What it's like to work here
You’ll be purchasing, sourcing and procuring towards a segmented Food and Beverage offer across our F&B network which serves food at circa 200 properties and 360 outlets. You’ll be part of the Sourcing, Supply and Environmental practices team of 9, reporting to the Senior Sourcing, Supply and Environmental Manager. This team sits with the wider central F&B proposition team.Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
With an interest in food and beverage, you’ll be helping source both food and non-food that supports the F&B proposition. This will involve supplier relationship management, negotiation, contract writing, product benchmarking and product set up. Items sourced will range from; key non-food kitchen elements to run a kitchen, food commodities ingredients, through to finished bought in food products. All of this will be done in line with our food sourcing standards and environmental and ethical policies. You’ll be communicating and working with both central F&B teams and with those operationally facing, such as Trainers and Area Managers. You will also be delivering tender activity in the non-food area for longer term lease or fully purchased large equipment.This role is a mix of reactive and strategic sourcing, balancing the day to days needs of the F&B proposition with longer term strategic planning of future supplier requirements.
Who we're looking for

In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below: •Extensive sourcing, purchasing and procurement experience in food / beverage and non-food in a food service setting..•Contract negotiation and delivery.•A strong understanding of the key purchasing dynamics in food and beverage, such as shelf life, MOQ / MOV/ case size, supply chain and how all this influences profitability.•Extensive experience of managing external third-party suppliers and wholesalers.Additional criteria for all other applications:•A strong negotiator underpinned by strong relationship management.•Communication skills, to all levels of an organisation, able to be heard in meetings, and challenge where necessary.
