We are working closely with several thriving secondary schools in Northampton that are seeking dedicated Girls' PE Teachers to join their departments from September 2025. These schools place a strong emphasis on physical health, student participation, and developing leadership and teamwork skills through sport.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, permanent teaching position with the opportunity to deliver high-quality Physical Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Some schools may also offer KS5 for experienced applicants.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering engaging, inclusive, and challenging PE lessons across a range of sports and activities
* Promoting lifelong participation in sport and healthy lifestyles among female students
* Organising and leading extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and sports events
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the PE curriculum and enrichment offer
* Supporting and encouraging students of all ability levels, including those with SEND or less confidence in physical activity
* Playing a key role in whole-school wellbeing, teamwork, and leadership development initiatives
What We're Looking For:
Applications are welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
* A strong understanding of the PE curriculum and sports development for girls
* Confidence in teaching a wide range of sports, fitness, and health education topics
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* A commitment to promoting inclusivity, teamwork, and positive attitudes towards physical activity
* Enthusiasm for leading extracurricular opportunities and contributing to the wider life of the school
