Part time enhanced response service support workers

Cambridge
Cambridgeshire County Council
Support worker
Posted: 25 August
Offer description

The Enhanced Response Service provides rapid support to service users who trigger telecare alarms and collaborates with ambulance services to respond to non-injured falls. We aim to promote independence and connect service users with Partnership teams for person-centred care and support.

This role requires flexible working hours, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts, with travel across the team’s geographical area. For more information or to discuss this opportunity, please contact Claire Hodge, Team Manager, at 07767 006726, or Gillian Sproule at 07593 918682.

Our ERS Support Workers assist with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, catheter care, feeding, meal preparation, and medication management. We respond to falls and telecare alerts to provide reassurance and practical assistance, coordinating with services like Fire and Rescue and Ambulance.

Applicants will apply learning from adult protection, diversity, and mental capacity act training, and will be responsible for recognizing and reporting incidents according to Council policies. Effective liaison within the team and with other agencies, such as assistive technology and health colleagues, is essential.

Documentation of care, both written and electronic, must be completed in accordance with CCC policy. Candidates should have previous experience in care, preferably within adult social care, with an NVQ Level 2 Care qualification or equivalent, and a willingness to work towards Level 3. Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills are required to update electronic records.

The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire using CCC pool vehicles, which are manual transmission, so a full driving license for manual vehicles is necessary.

Available posts are for 14.75, 18, and 21 hours per week, based at Hereward Hall, March. Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, and alternate weekends, with attached shift patterns. Induction includes four weeks of training, shadowing, and support from your Line Manager.

As these are part-time roles, they do not qualify for sponsorship. Please highlight in your application how your skills and experience meet the essential criteria outlined in the attached Job Description.

This is a rolling campaign with daily application reviews. We encourage you to apply promptly, as suitable candidates will be progressed quickly, and the positions filled as soon as suitable candidates are identified.

Cambridgeshire offers a diverse environment, from urban centres like Cambridge to rural landscapes, guided by our four core values that underpin our culture.
