Job Summary
The ADHD Clinical Lead role demands extensive clinical experience in mental health, accompanied by senior medical management expertise within a complex healthcare setting. The individual will demonstrate a proven ability to supervise clinical teams, manage performance, and actively engage in clinical audits or quality improvement initiatives.
The ADHD Clinical Lead will allocate their time across quality governance, leadership responsibilities, and operational oversight to ensure comprehensive support for the team and effective service delivery.
As our ADHD Clinical Lead, you will:
* Quality and Safety Oversight: Oversee clinical services for patients, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes, with regular evaluations. Chair the service governance meetings to ensure effectiveness.
* Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical direction and support for your specialist team. Supervise clinicians, offer guidance on clinical protocols and best practices, and foster a collaborative environment. Report regularly to the Clinical Director on service developments, quality metrics, and challenges within the team, ensuring alignment with Psychiatry UK’s strategic objectives.
* Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor clinical staff within your team. Conduct and chair regular multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to review cases and promote collaboration. Monitor the quality of work of new consultants, providing feedback and support as needed.
* Clinical Operational Oversight: Oversee operational aspects of clinical services, ensuring processes align with organisational objectives to optimise patient care pathways. Manage resource allocation and workflow to maintain efficiency.
* Service Development and Transformation: Drive initiatives to foster innovation and improve service delivery. Collaborate with clinical staff, the Clinical Director, and external stakeholders, introducing evidence-based strategies to improve patient outcomes and engagement.
* Performance Management: Monitor clinician performance, address areas for improvement, and support staff development to maintain high service standards.
* Clinical Capacity: Help expand clinical capacity by ensuring sufficient resources and staffing levels to meet patient needs while maintaining high standards of care.
* Engagement and Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with clinical staff and external partners. Collaborate with the Clinical Director to align team objectives with organisational goals and advocate for patient needs.
To succeed as our ADHD Clinical Lead, you will be:
A highly skilled and experienced medical professional with a Medical Degree and postgraduate qualifications (MRCPsych or equivalent). You will possess Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice, including inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.

* Skilled in data analytics, project management, and staff development initiatives.
* Competent in IT systems, clinical databases, and electronic health records.
* Committed to mentoring, education, and continuous quality improvement in mental healthcare.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Teaching qualifications or experience in delivering clinical education.
* Research experience with publications or conference presentations in mental health.
* A senior management degree (e.g., MBA or equivalent).
* Experience in service development and healthcare transformation projects.
* Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
* Advanced knowledge of epidemiology, healthcare evaluation, and statistical analysis in mental health.
* Proficiency in data analytics for performance improvement and service delivery.
* Proven project management skills, including change management and staff development.
* Experience designing and implementing protocols for clinical risk management and safeguarding.
* Expertise in mentoring and leading teams in clinical and educational settings.
* Familiarity with IT systems, including clinical databases, electronic health records, and reporting software.
