We are currently partnering with a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Manager. Our client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager who is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with practical involvement on the shop floor. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and leads by example. This position will take full responsibility for site maintenance operations, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime and the effective leadership of the maintenance team. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers Remain hands-on with electrical fault finding and breakdown support Oversee and improve planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems Drive root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions Maintain and improve PLC-controlled production machinery and automation systems Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and site standards Manage maintenance budgets, contractors and spare parts inventory Support capital investment projects, installations and commissioning Collaborate closely with Production and Senior Leadership to align engineering strategy with operational goals The Idea Candidate A strong electrical bias with proven PLC fault-finding experience Experience within a manufacturing environment (FMCG, automotive, packaging, heavy industry or similar) A recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) 18th Edition qualification (desirable) Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams A proactive, solutions-focused mindset Strong organisational and communication skills Competitive salary and benefits package Career progression within a reputable manufacturing business Opportunity to influence site performance and engineering strategy A stable and supportive working environment
