O&M Engineer/SAP(High Voltage)
Based: Midlands, UK + UK Travel
£40,000 – £50,000 + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Private Medical
We're hiring on behalf of a leading privately owned ICP with a strong presence in the new connections and renewables sector. This is a permanent position based in the Midlands, within a business that puts training, safety, and quality of work front and centre.
The company ensures all engineers are equipped with the training, qualifications, and hands-on experience they need to succeed — safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspection and maintenance of LV/HV substation equipment
* Protection testing
* HV/LV jointing and cable terminations
* Troubleshooting and fault finding
* Installation of switchgear and transformers
* Testing of earthing systems and associated equipment
* Producing remedial works quotations
* Compiling work packages, job instructions and RAMS
* Coordinating technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractors
* Managing resource allocation across projects
* Liaising with clients and stakeholders to manage project expectations and deliverables
* Ensuring projects meet technical and safety requirements
* Planning and executing HV switching and isolations up to 33kV
* Issuing permits and documentation per company and customer safety rules
* Testing systems, analysing results, and compiling reports
You'll ideally bring:
* HNC in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Distribution)
* Experience with private networks and/or the renewable energy sector
* Familiarity with current Health & Safety legislation
* GWO Certification (for onshore wind farms) (optional)
* Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling
* A full, clean UK driving licence
* Strong IT and organisational skill
