Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant – School Setting
Location: L39 Area (Ormskirk and surrounding)
About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant to join a supportive school environment in the L39 area. This role involves working closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning needs
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
* Help implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to adapt to varying needs and situations
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
