Service Coordinator - Ambulance Support Location: Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, Kent, ME16 9NT Hours: 35 hours per week Contract: Permanent Salary: £26,719 per annum Driving: Full UK Manual Driving Licence Held For A Minimum Of 2 Years We have a fantastic opportunity to join the British Red Cross Ambulance Support Team as a Service Coordinator We have a fleet of approximately 100 vehicles of varying specifications across the UK and we are constantly reviewing these to ensure that they are current and meet the requirements of our services and service users. Our fleet and equipment is comparable with those deployed by NHS services and we have recently introduced bariatric patient transport capability in some areas. Ambulance Support services are delivered by staff and volunteers, trained to provide patient transport, from various bases across the UK. Our services are directly managed by dedicated teams led by Service Delivery Managers, supported by Coordinators and, in some instances, Team Leaders. A national leadership team oversees our service performance, quality and development. A day in the life of an Ambulance Support Service Coordinator will include; You will co-ordinate a designated number of Ambulance Care Assistants to enable and provide support to the staff and volunteers involved in delivering high quality care to patients, in partnership with the Ambulance Service Trust. Responsibility to provide administrative and practical support to the Ambulance Care Assistants in Kent in support of the Service Delivery Manager. Being responsible for the day-to-day operation and deployment of the Red Cross vehicles and Ambulance Care Assistants. Ensuring that all operational ambulances are maintained at the highest standards. To be a successful Ambulance Support Service Coordinator you'll need; Full manual driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years Knowledge of staff and/or volunteer supervision A good working knowledge of spreadsheets, email, web-based and word processing software Ability to work on own initiative or under instruction from others Organisational skills - planning and monitoring own workload Knowledge of clinical standards and infection control with regard to quality standards Previous experience in a similar role highly desirable Experience of delivering high quality services to the public within a regulated framework e.g. CQC Able to work and travel extensively throughout the area on a regular basis as appropriate, and more widely in the UK as required.
