Trust Registrar in Medical SDEC
The closing date is 09 April 2026.
Role Overview
We require registrar grade Resident Doctors to work in the medical Same Day Emergency Care Medicine Department at Gloucestershire Royal & Cheltenham General Hospital. Post holders will rotate between both sites. These posts are not recognised for training but offer a good experience in general and acute medicine. The posts are initially for 12 months and provide excellent exposure within the medical SDEC on both sites, seeing patients with a wide variety of presentations. A normal working day is expected to be 9‑5, with some days extending from 11‑7 and an average of one long day a week and one weekend every six weeks. There are no night shifts, making this an attractive option for those seeking a better work‑life balance. You will be given a protected 1 day a month to pursue other interests (e.g., specialty clinics) and a half‑day per week for non‑clinical work such as QI, audit and career development.
Main Duties of the Job
We see a wide range of conditions offering great exposure to Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly and Stroke, with excellent in‑reach from the aforementioned specialties.
