Position: CFD Engineer
Location: Hybrid from Crewe, Cheshire
Position Type: Contract
Outside IR35
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a client who are a British manufacturer of luxury cars and SUVs, known for its high performance and handcrafted quality. They are looking for a CFD Engineer to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis
35 hours per week
Main Responsibilities:
1. Perform 3D CFD simulations to support development of the vehicle thermal management system and component thermal durability for BEV, PHEV and ICE powertrains.
2. Inform relevant system owners of the results of these simulations and the implications for their systems and components.
Skills & Experience:
3. Previous industry experience in either vehicle aerodynamics or vehicle thermal management
4. Previous experience with building and running CFD models
5. Previous systems engineering experience desirable
6. Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
7. Analytical and problem solving skills
8. Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
Practical & Technical Knowledge:
9. Experienced user of PowerFLOW, PowerTHERM and PowerCOOL
10. Pre-processing of CAD, mesh and non-geometric data to produce PowerFLOW and PowerTHERM models
Qualifications:
11. Engineering Degree or equivalent
12. Associate membership of a relevant professional intuition preferable
