The Redline Group is working with our Gloucestershire-based customer to secure the services of a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Solidworks on an initial 3–6 month basis. The role can be completed on a hybrid basis, with an initial period fully on–site to get up to speed with the project.
This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination, allowing candidates to operate through their own PSC.
Our customer has a strong presence in both commercial and domestic markets, supporting their expanding client base with sophisticated electro–mechanical products. You will support a highly technical project involving reverse engineering and design modifications of a product range. The role requires significant internal liaison, problem solving, and documentation. It is ideal for someone skilled at identifying missing design elements and thinking creatively.
Key Skills required – Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Solidworks, Gloucestershire:
1. Strong experience with Solidworks and associated PDM
2. Proven experience in reverse engineering product designs to resolve technical issues
3. Experience with sheet metal and fabricated designs
4. Experience in piping and pump design
Excellent communication skills are essential due to the need to liaise across multiple business units.
