Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a hands-on, commercially focused role within a growing, forward-thinking business?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating within the industrial and manufacturing sector. You’ll report directly to the Finance Director and take ownership of day-to-day financial management, team leadership, and strategic support as the business continues to expand.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a small finance team and ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and insight across the business. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting operational decisions, and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of four Accounts Assistants
* Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, cashbook, and bank reconciliations
* Prepare VAT returns and statutory submissions, ensuring compliance and accuracy
* Produce monthly management accounts with clear commentary and analysis
* Prepare, review, and manage budgets and forecasts aligned with business objectives
* Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making
* Manage cash flow and working capital effectively
* Implement robust internal controls and process efficiencies
* Partner with operational and senior management to streamline processes and support growth
About You
We’re looking for someone who is both technically strong and commercially astute, with the ability to lead a small team and drive continuous improvement across the finance function.
Requirements:
* QBE, qualified or finalist (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience
* Background in manufacturing, industrial or engineering sectors is advantageous
* Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing a small team
* Excellent analytical skills and a hands-on approach
* Advanced Excel and strong systems capability
* Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
