Business Development Manager – Marketplace
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey or Haywards Heath, West Sussex (hybrid).
Responsibilities
* Drive marketplace growth and partner management: deliver sales targets via cross‑sell and upsell strategies.
* Build and nurture long‑term relationships with marketplace merchants.
* Track partner performance, uncover growth opportunities and ensure solutions create clear client value.
* Contribute directly to broader commercial and business objectives.
* Enable Sales and Customer Success teams with training, insights and materials to confidently sell marketplace solutions.
* Support Professional Services with solution expertise and implementation coordination.
* Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and strong commercial outcomes.
* Support escalated client queries related to marketplace solutions, ensuring swift resolution.
* Act as a key link between clients, internal teams and marketplace partners to support smooth onboarding and ongoing adoption.
Qualifications
* Experience working in the consulting and benefits industry.
* Experience consulting with benefits providers and understanding their commercial models.
* Strong negotiation skills and track record of building long‑term partner relationships.
* Proven ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate solution value to internal teams and clients.
* Experience supporting sales processes, pitches or client‑facing engagements.
* Understanding of compliance and information‑handling requirements.
Desirable
* Experience with digital marketplaces or technology‑driven benefits solutions.
* Familiarity with implementation processes or professional services delivery.
