About The Role

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Team Manager to lead our supported living service at Mansfield Road in Nottingham. The service provides support for six adults with mental health difficulties. As Team Manager, you will work closely with the Services Manager to ensure the service delivers high quality, recovery‑focused, person‑centred support. The aim of the role is to help people live as independently as possible in their own homes and as part of their local community. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the service, leading and developing the team, managing risk and safeguarding, and ensuring contractual requirements and internal quality standards are met. This is a challenging but rewarding role in a fast‑paced and dynamic service where you can make a real difference to people on their recovery journey.

Location

The role is based at our supported living service on Mansfield Road in Nottingham. The post holder will also be expected to work flexibly within the community and attend meetings or training as required.

Hours

The role is full time (39 hours) and will be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the service. You will support rota planning and safe staffing, and be expected to take part in the on‑call rota. Occasional evening or weekend working may be required to respond to incidents, staffing issues, or safeguarding concerns.

About You

You will have at least two years of experience working in social care or mental health services, ideally within supported living, community, or residential settings. You will understand how to support adults with mental health needs, including managing risk, recognising relapse indicators, contributing to crisis planning, and working with other professionals. You will either hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and a Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management, or be willing to work towards these. You will have a good understanding of the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding procedures and relevant mental health legislation, as well as quality, governance, and compliance requirements.

You will be confident leading, supervising, and supporting staff, including carrying out supervisions, spot checks, and competency assessments, and supporting improvement plans where needed. You will be able to ensure support plans and risk assessments are up to date, outcomes focused, and based on each person’s strengths, needs, preferences, and goals. You will promote choice, rights, and independence, working with families, carers, advocates, and professionals appropriately and with consent. You will be organised and accurate in your record keeping, using systems such as Nourish, and will understand the importance of confidentiality, data protection, and professional documentation. You will also be able to support recruitment, induction, training compliance, rota management, and absence management.

You will be kind, compassionate, honest, and positive, with good communication and listening skills. You will be flexible, resilient, and committed to supporting people to build meaningful, independent lives. It is an advantage if you hold a full manual driving licence, have experience of trauma‑informed practice and de‑escalation, and have supported services to improve quality, outcomes, and compliance. You must be willing to take on other appropriate duties required by management that are suitable for your role and level.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Brydie King on Brydie.king@choicesupport.org.uk.

We may close this post early if we receive sufficient applications before the closing date. If you are interested, we would ask that you apply as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.
