Clayton Engineering Limited specialises in the design and manufacture of launch and recovery equipment for lifeboats as part of the RNLI. We support life‑saving operations in the sea and our high‑quality equipment is featured on BBC TV programme “Saving Lives at Sea” and used across RNLI boathouses nationwide. Our site is located in Knighton, Mid Wales, on the Powys/Shropshire/Herefordshire border, easily commutable from Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Leominster or Hereford.

Technical Supply Chain Manager
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver commercially successful outcomes by creating and developing long‑term category and sub‑category strategies that meet the needs of CEL’s customers today and far into the future.
* Create and implement a supply‑chain strategy to reduce cost, risk and improve quality and service standards.
* Support the organisation in providing and delivering the vision and strategic direction for the facility.
* Provide leadership through motivation and communication with team members to ensure they achieve their best performance.
* Support the organisation to define and implement a continuous improvement strategy, promoting a CI culture across all staff.
* Provide daily management and leadership of the Supply Chain team. Ensure targets and expectations are clear and stretch objectives are implemented.
* Nurture an environment where employees are engaged, committed, motivated and work effectively together and with other relevant cross‑functional teams.
* Ensure goods and services are delivered on time and in a safe, effective and efficient way.
* Provide Technical Engineering support and guidance to address technical queries within the supply‑chain function.
* Accountable for the supply‑chain and procurement processes and all related documentation.
* Lead supply‑chain projects and deliver clear plans to ensure financial targets and future goals are met.
* Analyse and interpret trends and system data, as well as conflicting organisational requirements, to influence and manage stakeholders effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
* Technical proficiency with a solid engineering foundation.
* Excellent people skills and the ability to manage and motivate a senior‑level team.
* Demonstrable senior‑level management experience.
* Ability to work well under pressure and take ownership of responsibility.
