Team Manager Cross Site Quality

We are looking for a BMS Team Lead to act as the Blood Science Cross Site Quality Coordinator within NHS Lothian. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating Quality aspects in the 3 main acute Blood Science Laboratory sites as well as being the main liaison with the Laboratory Medicine wide Compliance Team. Your remit will be evolving and flexible but includes areas such as coordinating audit and cross site findings, reviewing cross site EQA/IQC, documenting supplier issues, cross site documentation and UKAS related work. You will be working alongside site specific team leads, BMS, Operational Managers and the wider team to ensure the current high standards of Quality are maintained. The disciplines covered include Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Immunology and Serology as well as the Common Combined reception areas. Specialist level knowledge in at least one or more of the laboratory disciplines as well as UKAS experience and general quality management experience is essential for the role. You will have a MSC (or equivalent level qualification) as well as experience at an appropriate level in a Diagnostic Laboratory.
NHS Lothian Blood Sciences is based at 3 sites Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), Western General Hospital (WGH) and St Johns Hospital (SJH) and you will be expected to travel between these on a regular basis as the service needs. Your actual base will be discussed at interview.
