Duties
Responsible for providing technical and administrative supervision to subordinates engaged in operating the Auto Hobby Complex who perform minor motor vehicle repairs, maintenance and auto parts sales. Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools of the facility needed to accomplish the work on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis. Accountable to management for the quantity and quality of work performed and for ensuring efficient and economical work operations. Plans, schedules and coordinates work operations and personnel while adhering to work priorities, project schedules, resources and work plans established by higher level supervisors. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates. Observes work, resolves problems, makes adjustments and redirects resources as necessary to meet schedules and overcome problems such as equipment failures, material delays or unplanned absences. Inspects completed work for quantity and quality of work performed. Establishes internal procedures to assure effective control and direction of work activities. Explains and gains the support of subordinates for management policies, programs and goals. Motivates, disciplines and recommends administrative actions to management to assist in the retention or separation of personnel. Approves/Disapproves leave schedules/request and/or other absences from work ensuring efficient operations are maintained. Investigates grievances and complaints. Advises employees of performance expectations and explains new work techniques. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Oversees day to day operations of the Auto Hobby Complex parts store and tool counter. Conducts inventories, maintains, updates all facility program books pertaining to the activity such as Safety, HazMat, Building Manager, vehicle inspection, etc. As needed operates one or more types of gasoline, diesel vehicles typically having a gross vehicle weight less than 10000 lbs. to deliver/pick up supplies or escort contractors. Performs other related duties as assigned.

* This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
* Must be able to satisfactory complete a pre-employment physical.
* Must have a valid US Driver’s License and 3rd AF license.
* This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience
Must have Knowledge of principles, processes, and techniques of automotive repair, auto sales tore operations. Must have knowledge of safety regulations, practices and procedures. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices and procedures. Must have knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to automotive repair work. Knowledge of inventory, replenishment and new items receipt documentation. Must have the ability to plan and organize work assignments to accomplish the mission. Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable. However no experience is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
