School Business Manager

As the School Business Manager, you will be working in partnership with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to provide a cohesive and effective support service. You will be responsible for finance and business resource management, HR, administration and premises (including facilities management and health and safety); following best practice across all areas of your remit.
The ideal candidate will have a background in leading the business function within education (or a similarly complex environment). In addition, you will be familiar with strategic planning and decision-making, professional relationship management, negotiating and influencing at senior leadership and governing body level, and managing resources effectively. The role requires flexibility, tact and problem-solving on a daily basis, therefore, it is essential that you are professional, approachable and a very effective communicator. Above all, you will have a passion and commitment to the delivery of an outstanding service to our school community and be ready to make your contribution to improved school outcomes for our children and young people.
This position is full-time (35 hours per week), Term-time Only + Inset Days + an additional two weeks per annum, to be agreed with the Head Teacher (41 weeks per year).
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
1. relevant professional financial qualifications and business acumen
2. strong financial and administrative background, with proven track record of financial management
3. evidence of successful management of others
4. excellent interpersonal and communication skills
5. ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate and influence others
6. ability to work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines
7. high personal and professional standards
8. flexibility, initiative and a proactive / ‘can do’ approach.
What we can offer you:
9. A salary based on PS 9 (currently £40,296 - £43,735 FTE) depending on experience and qualifications. This will be pro-rated to reflect the actual weeks worked per annum, including holiday pay and bank holidays.
