Renewable Products Electrical Technician
Reporting to: Depot Manager
Coordinated by: Product Support Team
Division: Renewables
Key Responsibilities
*
Install and calibrate renewable products on customer sites, including hard wiring, earthing, and electrical testing/inspection/certification.
*
Conduct site handovers with customers, ensuring successful installations in collaboration with the Product Support Coordinator.
*
Provide coaching to site team members on operation, management, and maintenance of renewable products.
*
Complete sign-offs to confirm equipment is operable and that customers are fully trained.
*
Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, health checks, electrical checks, and Solar PV testing in line with company guidelines and legislative requirements.
*
Carry out repairs to renewable products as required.
*
Safely decommission renewable products at end of hire, including disconnection, battery management, and full decommissioning of systems.
General Duties

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and values.

Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Health & Safety directives, method statements, and procedures.

Wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe, hazard-free working environment on customer sites and company premises.
*
Carry out vehicle checks, drive safely and courteously, and promptly report defects.
*
Report all accidents and incidents through the proper channels.
*
Follow Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality processes to ensure compliance at all times.
Qualifications (Essential)
*
18th Edition Electrical
*
MBPA Level I & II certified
*
Earthing & Bonding qualified
*
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) certified
*
Generator Awareness certified
Experience
*
2–3 years in a similar role
*
1–2 years in a Generator Mechanical Technician operational role
Skills
*
Strong organisational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
*
Effective communication (verbal and written) across all levels.
*
Leadership-style communication to coach and support teams.
*
Solid Health & Safety awareness and risk assessment experience.
*
Competent in depot safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
*
High attention to detail, particularly regarding quality control and safety.
*
Strong product knowledge within the renewables sector.
