About the role
Join a busy packaging plant as a key member of the Engineering & Maintenance team. Your focus will be on electrical systems, though mechanical aptitude is also essential. You'll work across both reactive and planned maintenance to keep production running.
What you'll do
* Carry out routine PPMs and rapid response breakdown work to maintain machinery uptime.
* Diagnose faults on PLCs, VSDs, electrical control panels (up to 400?V), and mechanical equipment using root-cause analysis.
* Support electrical installations, process safety circuits, and upgrades aligned with continuous-improvement initiatives.
* Help develop and update risk assessments, SOPs, one-point lessons, and maintenance documentation.
* Work autonomously and collaboratively to eliminate machine setups and breakdowns.
The shift pattern
* You will work on a rotating shift pattern including days and nights with only 14 shifts per month.
About you
* Qualified to at least NVQ Level?3 / City &?Guilds in Electrical Engineering (or Electronic/Electrical bias).
* Solid manufacturing experience-ideally FMCG/food-packaging environments.
* Experienced in PLCs, variable-speed drives, DC Motors and fault diagnosis across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Effective communicator with good teamwork skills.
