Overview
A Turbine O&M Technician will support the Turbine O&M Team in the delivery of specific projects and provide technical assistance to resolve ongoing issues and implement improvements. Candidates should have a technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in a turbine discipline, and possess strong analytical fault‑finding capabilities on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems. Experience on Vestas V80 MK2 and Vestas 5 wind turbines is highly valued.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the resolution of onsite technical issues and implement technical improvements.
* Take and lead main component replacements.
* Identify and specify tooling requirements.
* Conduct technical auditing and assessments.
* Prepare reporting templates and other technical documentation.
* Develop and deliver in‑house technical training.
* Manage health and safety procedures and contribute to a safety‑focused environment.
Qualifications
* Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in turbine discipline.
* Good analytical fault‑finding capabilities on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
* Experience with Vestas V80 MK2 and Vestas 5 wind turbines (highly valued).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to interface with customers at site level.
* Ability to prepare risk assessments, method statements and other client‑required procedures.
* Strong awareness of health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland as project needs arise.
Experience
* Wind turbine maintenance experience.
* Large component exchange.
* Heavy lifting management.
* Working at height.
* Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 NVQ).
Additional Knowledge & Skills
* Working knowledge of gearbox inspections.
* Familiarity with specialised equipment such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, bore scope and thermal imaging.
* Proficient in analytical fault finding.
* Blade repair experience with a turbine O&M background (Vestas technologies).
* Team leadership and subcontractor coordination.
* Health & Safety Awareness (RA, CoSSH, MS).
* WTSR and mechanical or electrical fault finding.
* Use of hydraulic tooling.
* Reporting and use of Microsoft Office applications.
Location: Based near Cambridge, England.
