Nursing Delivery Lead for Health Checks & Phlebotomy – £27 - 35 per hour
Location: Stirling
We are looking for experienced nurses competent in Phlebotomy and with 12 months of management experience or more overseeing HCAs and nurses. Please email your full availability, CV and certificate if you would like to be considered and we will be in touch.
Shift Pattern
* Monday – Friday: 07:50 – 18:10
* Saturday: No scheduled appointments, may be introduced further on in the project.
* Sunday: 10:50 – 15:55
* Start: January 2027
Requirements
* Re-confirm participant details before each appointment
* Measure height, weight and waist; take heart rate and blood pressure; input data into the system
* Draw two blood samples, label and store correctly in fixed and mobile locations
* Check participant welfare throughout the appointment, escalating as required
* Offer signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant
* Prepare boxes containing samples for collection by courier
* Minimum of one year’s active experience drawing blood (validated through competency checklist and references)
Additional Requirements
* Provide clinical leadership to Healthcare Support Workers
* Focus on day‑to‑day delivery of excellence in quality care provision, ensuring all clinical governance and compliance targets are met, services are safe and delivered seamlessly
* Supernumerary role that can provide additional support for HSW breaks
* Responsible for staff attendance and scheduling
* Reports directly to Chief Nurse
* First point of escalation for operational queries
Background
* Over 1,000,000 participants aged 18 and over
* A six‑days‑per‑week service, running Monday to Sunday, linked to laboratory opening hours, open from 07:50 to 18:10 to maximize accessibility to participants
* The service will be delivered across various regions in Northern Ireland, Wales & Scotland, comprising of moving vehicle services
* A 15‑minute appointment per participant, inclusive of:
o Confirming participant identity
o Verifying participant consent
o Completing the following tests:
+ Blood pressure measures and heart rate (x2)
+ Height (cm)
+ Weight (kg)
+ Waist circumference (cm)
o Obtaining venous blood draw (2 × 6 ml EDTA samples)
* Providing participants with any information based on tests undertaken (where applicable)
