HMP Risley works with foreign nationals and is a resettlement male prison with a population of 1030. We are looking for someone with experience in substance misuse.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C Prison located in Warrington.

Hours:
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday - Friday
* 7.30am - 8.45pm (flexible timings possible)
* Some weekends when required
This is a full-time position with an annual salary up to £33,232 - £40,211 FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans through assessments and recovery planning.
* Deliver clinical and psychosocial interventions in group and 1-1 settings, focusing on recovery.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, initiate and review recovery plans, and communicate treatment options effectively.
* Monitor medication responses and side effects, liaising with prescribers and providing advice to service users.
* Support group work and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners; occasional dispensing support may be required.
* Commit to recovery and a person-centered approach.

Minimum requirements
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration - Adult
* Evidence of CPD
* RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake
* Experience working with opiate-dependent patients
* Sound clinical knowledge of substance misuse
* Non-judgmental, compassionate approach
Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
