An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Engineering Estimator to join its Sales Team. The role involves providing sales support and preparing detailed cost estimates for both standard and bespoke food processing equipment and systems, including installation and service support elements. Main Duties * Compile detailed estimates and prepare quotations for equipment and systems using standard templates and Excel spreadsheets. This may include sourcing and incorporating third-party equipment or components from partner organisations. * Log all quotations raised, including client company and contact details, using the internal database. * Record quotes in the CRM system and follow up on enquiries not assigned to a salesperson. * Develop a more efficient and streamlined estimating and quotation process using standard templates in Excel and Word, including evaluating potential new software solutions. * Learn and review CRM software for suitability as a tool to generate detailed quotations. * Handle sales enquiries via phone and email, providing prompt responses or referring to relevant colleagues as necessary. * Generate internal sales orders from client purchase orders, linking them to previously issued quotations. * Liaise with departments such as Accounts and Projects to provide necessary details for sales orders and estimates to support resource planning. * Respond to client queries regarding technical details and lead times for equipment. Ideal Experience and Qualifications * Background in a manufacturing estimating environment, ideally within engineering or machinery-based industries. * Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Outlook, Access, Excel (advanced), and Word. * Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM system. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and directly with clients. * Capability to research, evaluate, and recommend proposal or estimating software solutions to senior management. Hours of Work * Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm * Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm * Flexible working may be available by agreement; the role is primarily office-based
