Office Administrator
Location: Harlow
Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Standard office hours, Monday to Friday, with a degree of flexibility
The Opportunity
Berry Recruitment is delighted to be working with our client to recruit a highly organised Office Administrator. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll be at the centre of the business, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, managing documentation, and supporting both finance and HR functions.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position offers excellent scope for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys taking ownership of a wide range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily office operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies
Manage reception duties, greeting visitors and directing enquiries professionally
Support marketing activities, including website development and LinkedIn updates
Maintain office supplies, equipment, and PPE for engineers, liaising with suppliers as needed
Organise hotel bookings, travel arrangements, and conference logistics
Maintain HR, health & safety, and payroll documentation (digital and physical)
Keep accurate records and databases, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance
Assist with audits (REFCOM, Constructionline, CHAS)
Track staff expenses and support basic financial procedures
Liaise with recruitment agencies, collate applicants, and support onboarding processes
Maintain training records and book training sessions
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who brings:
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
A proactive, resourceful approach to problem‑solving
Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Solid numeracy and literacy, with proven administrative experience
