Head of Operations | Maritime Training | Cadet Management
Stream Marine Training (SMT) is a world class provider of firefighting, sea survival, survival craft and HSE approved and certified training courses to the global maritime, oil and gas, renewables, and construction industries. We are seeking a Marine Instructor to join our team based at our training facilities at Glasgow Airport. The courses we deliver include both theory and practical lessons and we work across multiple awarding bodies and several industries. We are looking for a candidate who can deliver courses professionally, confidently, and highly organized with exceptional presentation skills and an eye for detail. You will be joining a company which puts the clients first and will be part of a passionate, dynamic, and highly motivated team of instructors who deliver first class training.
Instructor Specifications
* Minimum of OOW or EOOW CoC (essential)
* Sea going experience in an Officer Capacity (essential)
* Valid STCW certificates or be willing to attend courses when appointed (desirable)
* Previous experience of delivering MCA / STCW Safety & Survival courses (desirable)
* Train the Trainer and Assessor Qualifications or equivalent (desirable)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (essential)
Key responsibilities
* Deliver courses that you are approved to deliver to a high standard, customer-centric way ensuring all the learning outcomes are achieved.
* Ensure delegates and staff on courses are in a safe and compliant environment.
* Ensure courses run efficiently on time and to agreed course timetables.
* Follow company policies, procedures and operating instructions and provide feedback to your Line Manager for updates.
* Continually update courses assigned to you to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Keep your own qualifications up to date to deliver courses.
* Prepare all relevant materials, equipment and documents for each lesson to deliver the course.
* Collaborate with the Safety & Survival Team to maintain the safety culture of the Group.
* Carry out daily equipment checks and report any deficiencies promptly.
* Embrace and promote the company values and culture.
* Flexible approach to work and willingness to travel for course delivery on client sites.
