Analyst - Compliance Engineering – Full Stack Software Engineer

We are Compliance Engineering, a global team of over 400 engineers and scientists tackling complex, mission-critical problems.
We build and operate platforms and applications that prevent, detect, and mitigate regulatory and reputational risks across the firm. We leverage modern frameworks to develop responsive front-end and Big Data applications, with access to the latest technology and vast data resources.
In 2025, the firm is investing significantly to enhance and rebuild the Compliance application portfolio, establishing a new Compliance Engineering team in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to be part of this exciting new team and help shape its vision.
We are looking to fill several full stack developer roles across different teams.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
* Partner globally with sponsors, users, and engineering colleagues across multiple divisions to create end-to-end solutions.
* Learn from experts and leverage various technologies including Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, APIs, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Kafka, Kubernetes, Apache Flink, Kafka CDC.
* Innovate and incubate new ideas.
* Work on a broad range of problems involving large data sets, real-time processing, messaging, workflows, and UI/UX.
* Engage in the full software development lifecycle: defining, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software products.
Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess:
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 1-2 years of experience in Java development.
* 1-2 years of experience in automated testing and SDLC concepts.
* Strong communication skills to clearly express ideas and arguments.
Preferred additional experience includes:
* UI/UX development
* API design for interconnected services
* Message buses or real-time processing
* Relational databases
* Knowledge of the financial industry, compliance, or risk functions
* Stakeholder influence skills
