Caval Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading highway maintenance contractor on this key hire. As Design Manager, you'll sit at the heart of their ambition bridging design, construction, and commercial teams to deliver high-quality schemes on the Strategic Road Network.
What you'll be doing
* Leading design activities from early concept through to handover, covering Principal Designer duties
* Coordinating internal teams, external consultants, and specialist subcontractors
* Managing design risk, budgets, schedules, and change control
* Ensuring compliance with CDM, DMRB, MCHW, and client standards
* Providing on-site technical support and resolving design queries during construction
* Helping grow SPaTS3 Framework work and identify new revenue opportunities
What we're looking for
* Proven highways design experience, ideally on maintenance and renewals schemes
* Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and the Principal Designer role
* Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
* Chartership with ICE or CIHT is a bonus — but not essential
* A collaborative mindset and the communication skills to match
