Job Advertisement What is a Supply Teacher? A Supply Teacher is a Teacher who is recruited to a list of approved teachers who can be offered short-term and long-term temporary work as and when there is a school need. They may be asked to cover periods of staff sickness, maternity leave, secondment, temporary vacancies etc. Supply Teachers are valued and essential to schools to fill such gaps with minimal impact to young people s learning. There is no obligation to accept offers of work and in some cases supply teachers are registered in more than one local authority.
