The Role
Strategic & Portfolio Management
1. Build and maintain relationships with the Underwriting & Distribution community as the key interface, to develop awareness and knowledge of their priorities, business drivers and internal/external factors which will support achieving strategic goals
2. Maintaining awareness across Operations to align priorities and objectives for Underwriting & Distribution
3. Keeping affected executives and other Operations team members aware, educated on and invested in activities within Underwriting & Distribution
4. Creating cross functional portfolio plans (both transformational and business-as-usual) that connect with other business units to identify interdependencies and/or conflicts
5. Engage with business subject matter experts, Operations and IT resources with the appropriate support structure
Operations Delivery
6. Contribute to a continuous improvement mentality across the respective function by leveraging capabilities in place across the Operations teams including process management, operational resilience, change, data
7. Keep track of findings, actions and projects aimed at improving operational resilience for the respective function, by e.g. maintaining a close relationship with all process owners in the respective function and by picking up issues, problems and challenges early on and channel these to the appropriate channels to adopt a proactive approach to both running and transforming the business
8. Promote existing and identify further services that Operations Delivery can provide to the respective function
Change and Transformation
9. Support in devising, implementing and continually improving organisational design especially departmental design, aligned to business growth and with clear functional accountabilities ensuring strategic integration and design solutions that match both the commercial and cultural needs of the organization
10. Working closely with the Operations Delivery team, drive key operational and process improvement initiatives to ensure business operations deliver business outcomes
11. Deliver long-range strategic plans through alignment of strategy, structure, processes, people.
12. Ability to manage change within a fluid environment across businesses, functions and geographies
Data
13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriters, actuaries, claims, and senior management, to understand their data requirements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
14. Identifying opportunities to utilize data for gaining a competitive advantage within the Global Specialty Insurance Industry and the London Market.
15. Key contributor to our data-driven initiatives, ensuring that data is leveraged strategically to drive business growth and competitiveness.
16. Holistic view of all topics to ensure maximum use of resource, budget and teams across multiple initiatives to prevent duplication and understand impacts for data teams and gaps in spend

What we are looking for
19. Strong exposure within Insurance industry, especially with Underwriting
20. Comprehensive understanding of the London market and Lloyd’s environment.
21. Comprehensive understanding of the Lloyd’s Principles for Doing Business.
22. Understanding of business strategy and the work of the other departments within the organisation.
23. Exemplary stakeholder engagement
24. Awareness of the considerations and requirements driven by insurance laws, regulations and other governance bodies across a variety of geographies, lines of business and distribution channels
25. Ability to coordinate multiple projects, initiatives and BAU topics across multiple parts of the business to deliver strategic objectives in accordance with set deadlines
26. Attention to detail and strives for accuracy and data quality
27. Result focused, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic
28. Ability to interact and negotiate with both internal and external parties
Specific Experience
29. Experience in Underwriting, Underwriting Management or similar
30. A proven track record in delivering a suite of strategic planning and business transformation consulting services, specifically with underwriting & distribution experience
31. Demonstrable ability to proactively build relationships and manage client stakeholders, including providing robust advice, constructive challenge, influencing decisions, delivering difficult messages and managing performance issues
32. Insurance sector consulting: Experience and a deep understanding of sector-specific context and challenges to support clients deliver change
