As a Plant Operator at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for operating transfer station mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner to manage waste delivery stockpiles and load waste materials into articulated bulking vehicles. The primary plant operated will be a wheeled loading shovel, alongside other mobile plant activities as required.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Operating a loading shovel in line with operator best practice and company procedures
•Completing daily start-up inspections of mobile plant and reporting defects
•Ensuring mobile plant is kept clean and well maintained, including greasing and basic upkeep
•Maintaining good housekeeping standards across the site
•Enforcing traffic management rules
•Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times and reporting near misses
•Loading vehicles for onward transportation of waste
•Ensuring waste rotation complies with site licence storage limits
•Liaising with site operatives and supervisors to ensure efficient movement of waste
•Monitoring fuel usage and reporting shortages
•Assisting with other machine operator and weighbridge duties when required
•Carrying out any other reasonable duties to meet the needs of the business

What are we looking for?
•Qualified machine operator with experience operating a loading shovel (essential)
•Current plant licence desirable
•Strong commitment to health and safety
•Hardworking and reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance
•Willingness to learn and undertake required training
•Ability to work effectively as part of a team
