Domestic Abuse Officer We are seeking a qualified and experienced Probation Officer to join a Family Safeguarding Team as a Domestic Abuse Officer. This is a vital role working directly with families affected by domestic abuse, supporting both victims and perpetrators to achieve positive, lasting change and improve outcomes for children. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a multi-disciplinary Family Safeguarding Team alongside social workers, mental health practitioners, recovery workers, and psychologists. Deliver high-quality assessments and interventions for perpetrators and victims of domestic abuse. Undertake risk assessments and develop clear, evidence-based safety and intervention plans. Support perpetrators to take responsibility for their actions and work to change their behaviour. Collaborate with partner agencies including Police, Probation, MARAC, MAPPA, and health professionals to ensure effective safeguarding responses. Facilitate or contribute to group-based interventions such as "Thinking Skills," "Building Better Relationships," "Anger Management," and "Caring Dads." Carry out home visits as part of risk assessment and intervention work. Maintain accurate, timely case records and contribute to team supervision, planning, and review meetings. About You Qualified Probation Officer (essential). Strong experience working with both perpetrators and victims of domestic abuse. Skilled in risk assessment, management, and safety planning. Knowledge and experience of Motivational Interviewing and CBT-based approaches. Understanding of safeguarding, personality disorders, and the dynamics and impact of domestic abuse. Confident in partnership working and contributing to multi-agency case discussions. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Able to remain calm and professional under pressure and manage challenging situations effectively. Additional Information Full professional supervision and development support provided.
