Overview

As an Intelligence Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime across Barnet. Working closely with the Community Safety Team (CST) and Corporate Anti-Fraud Team (CAFT), you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and disseminating intelligence and data to support enforcement and community safety initiatives. You will manage intelligence-related duties, contribute to performance monitoring, and ensure compliance with legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Human Rights Act. Your work will support a wide range of activities, from environmental crime and anti-social behaviour to fraud investigations and strategic planning. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.


Responsibilities

* Collect, analyse, and disseminate intelligence and data to support enforcement and community safety initiatives.
* Manage intelligence-related duties and contribute to performance monitoring.
* Ensure compliance with legislation including the Data Protection Act and Human Rights Act.
* Support activities across environmental crime, anti-social behaviour, fraud investigations, and strategic planning.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve positive outcomes.


Qualifications and Skills

* You have proven administrative experience and are confident handling confidential and sensitive information in a secure and professional manner.
* You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and can quickly learn new software systems.
* You have strong analytical skills and can interpret complex information to support evidence-based decision-making.
* You are politically aware and able to manage interactions with senior officers and elected Members with professionalism and discretion.
* You are experienced in working collaboratively within teams and multi-agency partnerships to achieve positive outcomes.
* You are able to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and remain calm under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
* You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences, including the public, senior management, and external partners.
* You are confident in providing accurate advice and guidance to service users and stakeholders.
* You are committed to delivering high standards of customer care and service excellence.
* You are adaptable, solution-focused, and contribute positively to a collaborative and open team culture.
