JOB PURPOSE
The core role of the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager is to manage the businesses compliance with statutory Health, Safety and Environmental obligations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and implement various Risk Assessments, including PUWER and COSHH assessments.
2. Implement and update all HSE policies and procedures in accordance to document control practices.
3. Conduct internal audits and manage external audits to ensure that all compliance is up to date and accreditation is maintained.
4. Ensure that corrective actions from all audits are recorded, actioned and closed.
5. Oversee all health, safety and environmental issues, ensuring that all company procedures are adhered to and communicated to relevant personnel.
6. Hold quarterly Health & Safety meetings and provide documented minutes.
7. Complete HSE accident and incident investigation forms, conduct reviews and assist with preventative actions and back to work programmes.
8. Conduct investigations into claims working alongside the insurance loss adjusters.
9. Advise and support the management team on all HSE issues.
10. Implement processes and systems to improve the HSE culture.
11. Conduct DSE assessments, noise level exposure tests and manual handling assessments.
12. Organise and conduct internal and external HSE training of personnel.
13. Ensure that statutory inspections are conducted at defined frequencies and any actions are completed.
14. Ensure all HSE legislative requirements are adhered to including compliance to Environmental Permits.
15. Collate and communicate HSE statistics and trends on a monthly basis.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
IEMA Certificate or equivalent.
Use of all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel etc).
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
Ability to work under own initiative.
Good Health, Safety and Environment experience in a manufacturing business.
Use of Riskconnect and Sharepoint systems.
Manufacturing & Transport HSE experience (desirable)
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Reliable and flexible with strong work ethic.
Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to variable workload.
Punctual, presentable and with good attendance.
Will be working in a very fast paced environment so must be experienced in dealing with pressure and be highly organized with an ability to multi-task and manage one's own time.
Pro-active, approachable can-do attitude required.
Able to work well in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
