Trainee Shipping Customs Clerk Location: West Bromwich (on-site) Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (1-hour lunch) Start: ASAP Kick-start your logistics career in a hands-on trainee role with full training across UK and European shipping and customs. You will support an Operations Supervisor while learning end-to-end import and export processes, groupage, FTL and PTL, with clear progression in a friendly, high-performing team. What you will do Work alongside and support the Operations Supervisor on day-to-day shipping and customs tasks. Assist with end-to-end import and export files: bookings, documentation, status updates, PODs and invoicing support. Coordinate UK collections and distribution, liaising professionally with drivers, hauliers and clients. Gain exposure to groupage, FTL and PTL planning, scheduling and execution. Learn to raise and process EADs, T-forms and IDR documents; maintain accurate job files. Develop working knowledge of Commodity Codes and Incoterms. Train on customs and community systems such as CDS, NCTS, Sequoia, Destin8, CNS and GMR. About you Clear, confident communicator with strong attention to detail and a good standard of education. Positive attitude, strong work ethic and enthusiasm to learn. Able to use your own initiative and collaborate effectively as part of a thriving team.
