Job Title: Social Worker – Looked After Children

Pay Rate: £39.50 per hour

Join our client’s Looked After Children Team in Central Bedfordshire as a Social Worker. In this role, you will apply a range of social work theories and models to support innovative and ambitious interventions that improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families through child-in-need, child protection, and court work. What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will:
1. Manage a caseload of children who are in the care of the local authority.
2. Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
3. Ensure children’s placements (foster care, residential care, kinship care) are safe, stable, and supportive.
4. Promote the child’s health, education, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring access to appropriate services.
5. Maintain regular contact with children through statutory visits and direct work.
6. Prepare and present reports for Looked After Child Reviews.
7. Work closely with birth families, carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
8. Support children through transitions, including reunification with family, adoption, or leaving care.
9. Advocate for the child’s voice to be heard in all aspects of planning and decision-making
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have:
10. Social Work England registration
11. Eligible to work in the UK
12. Hold a full UK driving licence
13. Post-qualified experience
14. Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
