This post is based within our Education Directorate. North Ayrshire Council is committed to providing the best possible education outcomes to learners with additional support needs. This new post has been created to lead our Outreach Support Service, which supports around 600 learners with needs such as sensory impairment, English as an Additional Language, and those at risk of disengagement from education.
Applicants must have experience in a promoted teacher post and managing additional support needs of learners. Applicants applying for their first permanent Head Teacher post must hold the Standard for Headship or be working towards this.

As part of the selection process, you must provide ONE completed reference with your application. References will be read alongside your application form. Applicants without references submitted on time will be disadvantaged, as additional points are awarded for a satisfactory reference (0 points for no reference, up to 6 points for a strong reference). Your second referee will be contacted if you are the preferred candidate.
It is your responsibility to gather and send the reference to the relevant contact within the school before the vacancy closes. References should be emailed to Louise Lawson.
PVG (Children)
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. It is an offence to apply if barred from working with children.
