An exciting opportunity has arisen to jointhe Band 5 PhysiotherapyNorth Rotation and West/ Coastalat Sussex Community Foundation Trust(SCFT)

Here at SCFT our aim is to maximise opportunities for the people living in our communities to be as independent as possible in‘what matters to them’.Our Physiotherapy teams support people tolivefull and active lives within their family circles, social networks, and workplace.

This supportive Band 5 Physiotherapy rotation aims to help you through the transition from student to skilled therapistand wewelcome applications from candidates whoare close to graduationor awaiting confirmation of HCPCregistration post-graduation, in addition to those with somepreviousBand 5 experience.

You will have a supervised caseload and a programme of continuingprofessional development toassistin your progression. The rotations enable newly qualified Physiotherapists to develop skills and competencies beyond graduate level in a variety of clinical specialties across inpatient, outpatient and community roles.

Specialities available on this rotation include:

• Musculoskeletal Outpatients

• Intermediate Care Units-InpatientRehabilitation

• Paediatrics-Communityand/or MSK

• NeurologicalInpatientRehabilitation(Stroke - North only)

• Community Therapy Team (You will need to be able to drive with a full UK licencefor home visits)


Hours of work for full time staff are 37.5hrs per week-primarily arranged according to service requirements, which may require a degree of flexibility depending on the service.Hours will primarily be within 07:30 and 20:00 with the potential to work the hours in different arrangements over the 7 days of the week.SCFTremainscommitted to flexible working policies and aims to help individuals achieve a strong work/life balance.

Rotations are 6 months in length and are based around our geographical areas: West and Coastal (Chichester, Arundel, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Worthing) North (Mid-Sussex, Crawley, Horsham).

These geographical rotation areas are set up to help limit the travel distances involved for our staff, however, if you have a particular interest in undertaking a rotation outside of your ‘home’ rotation, all requests will be considered.

If this is your first Band 5 post since graduating, you will be invited to take part in our preceptorship programme. The preceptorship is a structured scheme lasting 12 months, which aims:

To successfully help new starters integrate into their new role

To build confidence and competence

To help you on your way to settling in well to your new career with SCFT

To facilitate your journey to a fully autonomous practitioner.

The programme will include a variety of trainings, watched assessments, and opportunities to network and learn throughout your first year in employment.
