Job purpose
Roam is looking to recruit a new member to its growing finance team at its headquarters in Crawley, West Sussex.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Assistant Management Accountant will support the preparation of management accounts, assist with day-to-day financial data collation and entry (including support for Accounts Payable) and contribute to statutory, shareholder and ad-hoc business reporting.

Duties and responsibilities
* Management accounts: Assist in the preparation of management accounts, including accruals and prepayments and the reporting of key business KPI’s as part of the Board Pack, including commentary explaining significant variances.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure all required reconciliations are completed within the month-end deadlines to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
* Departmental Overhead Reporting: Prepare and review monthly departmental cost reports against budget with departmental heads, highlighting variances and ensuring any planned future spend is reflected in cashflow forecasts and financial projections.
* Accounts Payable Support: Provide support to the finance team, particularly Accounts Payable, including supplier payment runs, credit card transactions and matching bank transactions in the finance system.
* Regulatory reporting & Audit: Support the preparation and timely completion of regulatory reporting requirements, including statutory accounts, corporation tax and other tax fillings.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of the annual budget, periodic reforecasts and other financial analysis to provide insights to the Board, investors and the wider business.
* Treasury: Maintain and update the company’s cashflow forecast.
* Business Partnering: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and stronger financial controls to support the finance team and the wider organisation during this period of significant growth.
Skills and experience
* Strong financial experience (see qualifications requirements below)
* Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth or high-change environment
* Strong IT skill and proficiency with MS Office Applications; particularly Excel
* Experience of using NetSuite & Xero is desirable, but not essential
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
* A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to grow and develop alongside the business
Qualifications
* AAT Qualified / Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA
Additional Information
* Hours of work are 8:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday
* This role is principally office based with some hybrid working available
* Salary Range: £35k to £40k
