Overall Purpose of Role
Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead, manage, and direct our client's social care team for children and young people, ensuring the provision of high-quality services in accordance with relevant legislation and standards. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children, improving their outcomes, and fulfilling statutory responsibilities.

Main Accountabilities
* Lead, manage, and direct the day-to-day operations of children's social care teams, including allocation of work and decision-making in line with delegated authority, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures for safeguarding.
* Recruit, supervise, appraise, and develop staff in alignment with organisational requirements and statutory obligations, fostering a skilled and effective workforce.
* Manage budgets effectively, monitoring expenditure patterns to inform planning and budget setting within the Directorate.
* Foster partnership and multi-agency working to assess risks, respond to needs, and safeguard children, promoting information sharing with relevant agencies and stakeholders.
* Develop and implement team plans aligning with organisational and partnership objectives, continually improving services based on local needs analysis.
* Drive service improvements through audit, quality assurance, data management, and performance monitoring in compliance with regulations and standards.
* Ensure staff management and service delivery adhere to equality policies, promoting inclusivity and diversity.
* Maintain health and safety standards within the team and service locations.
* Undertake additional duties as necessary, including deputising for line managers and representing the service on internal and external initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Qualifications Required:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
* Certified Qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Certificate in Social Service (CSS), Diploma in Social Work (DiSW-SP), or equivalent.
* Home Office letter of recognition.
* Practice Teacher Award/Enabling Others.
* SWE registration.
* Management Qualification NVQ Level 5.
* Post-qualifying child care or specialist award.
Experience and Knowledge:
* Minimum 5 years post-qualifying experience in children's social care, including statutory child care.
* Demonstrated ability to manage staff and team performance effectively.
* In-depth knowledge of child care legislation and relevant research.
* Budget management skills and understanding of budget principles.
* Experience in multi-agency working and relationship building.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
* Understanding of post-qualification specialist awards for supervision purposes.
