Overview
We are looking for a Trustee to help develop and deliver our fundraising strategy. If you are enthusiastic about fundraising & networking and want to make a big difference to a small charity, we would really like to hear from you.

What are we looking for?
Essential
* Someone with fundraising/income-generation knowledge.
* Experience of diverse fundraising practices, including statutory funds, grants, corporate sponsors and philanthropic giving.
* Familiarity with Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice.
* Excellent networking and communication skills.
* Strategic thinking with an ability to contribute to high-level planning and risk assessment.
* Budgeting expertise.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* A team-oriented approach to problem solving and to management.
* Have sound, independent judgement.
Desirable
* Understanding of the challenges facing small-medium UK charities in maximising income streams & donor cultivation.
* Existing networks that may be valuable to the charity’s fundraising ambitions.
* Experience within the charity, voluntary or public sector.
* Experience serving on a board or in a governance role.
* Understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
What will you be doing?
The trustee will support the Board in ensuring the charity's financial sustainability, taking a lead role in shaping our fundraising strategy and ensuring it aligns with our mission, values, and long-term goals, as well as supporting our fundraising manager and volunteers, offering expertise and guidance.
Main responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and oversight of the charity’s fundraising strategy.
* Provide guidance and insight on fundraising trends, opportunities and risks.
* Support the fundraising manager and volunteers, offering expertise and encouragement.
* Help identify new funding sources, develop corporate partnership opportunities and grant applications.
* Monitor the effectiveness and compliance of fundraising activities.
* Work with the Board to evaluate fundraising risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
* Act as an ambassador for the charity, building relationships with potential supporters and funders.
* Represent the charity at relevant external events and meetings to enhance our fundraising profile.
