Qualifications
We are seeking a highly experienced Guidewire BillingCenter Architect to lead the design and implementation of billing solutions for large-scale insurance transformation programs. This is a highly technical and advisory role requiring deep expertise in Guidewire BillingCenter, insurance billing processes, and enterprise architecture best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance billing systems using Guidewire technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the architecture and design of Guidewire BillingCenter implementations for insurance clients.
* Define billing solution blueprints, integration strategies, and technical roadmaps aligned with business goals.
* Provide technical leadership across the full delivery lifecycle including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
* Ensure adherence to Guidewire Surepath Methodologies, implementation guidelines, and coding standards.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather billing requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
* Design and implement billing workflows, payment processing (including UK Direct Debit Processing, and Credit/Debit card processing), invoicing, and collections modules.
* Architect integrations with external systems such as policy administration, claims, finance, and third-party payment gateways.
* Support performance tuning, scalability planning, and disaster recovery strategies for BillingCenter deployments.
* Conduct architecture reviews, technical workshops, and provide advisory support to clients and delivery teams.
* Stay current with Guidewire product updates, cloud capabilities, and industry trends in insurance billing.
Job Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise architecture and insurance technology delivery.
* Proven experience in designing and implementing Guidewire BillingCenter solutions.
* Strong understanding of insurance UK billing processes including invoicing, payments, adjustments, and collections.
* Hands-on experience with Guidewire configuration, integration, and data model customization.
* Expertise in Java, Gosu, and Guidewire Studio.
* Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) and cloud-native architecture patterns.
* Knowledge of integration technologies including APIs, messaging frameworks, and middleware.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Guidewire certifications (BillingCenter, Cloud V10) are highly desirable.
* AutoPilot and Jutro understanding.
* Experience in Commercial/Speciality Lines of Business.
* Experience with requirements gathering for integrations with ClaimCenter such as Fraud system, GL, Doc Prod etc.
* Certification on Guidewire BA ClaimCenter.
