Job Title: Assistant Manager – Tax Technology
Base Location: Canary Wharf, London OR Glasgow based (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
The KPMG Tax Technology & Innovation are made up of Technology Consultants, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Data Architects & Engineers, Multi-disciplinary Engineering teams and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Legal.
This business has 2500+ tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines. We serve many thousands of clients and private individuals by providing a modern, market-leading suite of technology solutions that provide an efficient digital experience from routine to complex tax advice.

Tax is highlighted frequently as an industry where generative AI will have a significant impact on how services are provided. You will be working as a team at the forefront of navigating that change and redefining the way in which tax is determined in the UK and globally, making sure people and companies pay the right amount of tax with the minimum amount of effort.
What will you be doing?
As a Tax Technology Assistant Manager, you will combine your tax and accounting expertise with cutting-edge technologies, to support our clients to navigate the ever-evolving tax landscape and transform the way we deliver tax services.
In this role you will:
1. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their unique challenges, gather and document requirements, and map out current (‘as-is’) processes
2. Work closely with stakeholders to translate and articulate requirements to technical teams, including drafting proposed tax processes and design documentation
3. Support with managing the design, development and implementation of KPMG and third party technology solutions for clients, including configuration and testing to ensure functionality and alignment with business objectives
4. Support the development of technology solutions and propositions, participating in testing and deployment phases to ensure successful integration
5. Support technology demonstrations and sales efforts
What will you need to do it?
6. A good understanding or background in accounting or tax is essential.
7. An interest in technology and its application in the tax function
8. Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, concepts, and modern work practice
9. Ability to work independently, knowing when to consult and doing this in a timely manner
10. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex requirements, processes and systems
11. Demonstrable project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
12. Accounting or tax qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CTA or equivalent
13. Experience in data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI or Tableau)
14. Experience in tax technology solution implementation and configuration
15. Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in tax technology

We are open to talk to talent across the country but preference will be given to candidates who are willing and able to do 2 days per week in one of our core Tech hubs for this role, which are:
