Trainer/Assessor for Rural Skills Apprenticeships (Including Horticulture and Countryside Management)
County Training, as part of Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College, are a well-established training provider in Shropshire, operating from several bases across the county. We are a major provider of apprenticeships and work-based training, as well as adult learning programmes for the unemployed and those seeking to progress into further education or employment. We work closely with businesses and employers across the region, as well as other stakeholders such as local councils.
Our provision includes apprenticeships in the land-based sector and we work closely with businesses and employers across the region in promoting and delivering apprenticeship provision.
As part of the continuing development and growth of our land-based apprenticeship provision we are seeking to appoint to the following post:
To deliver training, which may include block release and on-line teaching of underpinning knowledge elements, and to carry out work-based assessments and progress reviews for an agreed caseload of trainees, and to engage with sector employers and businesses in the region to promote and grow Apprenticeships and other Work-Based Learning programmes within the Land-Based sector.
Workplace competency assessments and off-the-job training will be carried out for apprentices and work-based learners working for a range of land-based and rural sector employers across Shropshire and surrounding counties. Apprenticeship Standards to be covered will include Horticulture or Landscape Operative, Countryside Worker and Ranger with the scope to expand into new occupations and Apprenticeships in line with demand.
As part of the role you will also be expected to carry out the associated organisational / administrative processes including recruitment and placement processes, quality monitoring and reporting, preparation of apprentices for End Point Assessment, and achievement claims. You will also support and participate fully in the ongoing Faculty and College activities to achieve the College’s key mission and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have relevant work / industrial experience within the land-based / rural skills sector (training will be offered to anyone without assessor/training qualifications).
The post-holder will be based at one of our centres in Shropshire.

Salary: Up to £35,551 per annum
